Senior music major, Angelica Grays, has put in labor as ambassador for the music department at Spelman College. Most recently, in September of 2010 she was the soprano representative in the 105 Voices of History National Concert Choir; the choir features one student from each Historically Black College and University in the nation. During summer preparation for the concert to be held at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, the organization offered a solo competition open to vocal concentration majors for the chance to sing a solo selection on the Kennedy Center stage. After, local, regional and national level competition cycles, Ms. Grays became one of the 4 finalists. Following the weeks events in September, Ms. Grays was asked to be a member of the 105 Voices of History Student Leadership Council. 

In January of 2011, the finalists were asked to return to DC for the chance to do an all expense paid master class weekend with the Washington National Opera. Under the directions of choral director Steven Gathman. With principle vocal coach Ken Weiss, the students were able to get one-on-one coaching in preparation for upcoming recitals at their various institutions. "The WNO experience" she states "was truly an invaluable one; opportunities the 105 Voices of History provides are ones to treasure for a lifetime".
